The components are low-voltage, so you’re not risking a shock, but wiring a new keypad into the wrong terminal on the control board can fry a $400 board in seconds. If you’re comfortable with a multimeter and wiring diagrams, swapping a remote or reprogramming a keypad is reasonable to attempt.
