Available Franchise Territories

Gatewood Fence & Gate has been owner-operated since 2001, and for 29 years we’ve built our name one driveway at a time. Now we’re opening protected territories in twelve states, and we’re looking for people who understand what a gate repair business actually is: a local trade built on showing up, fixing it right, and being the name your neighbors already know. The first person in each market gets a protected territory, which means you’re not fighting another Gatewood shop three miles down the road. You’re the Gatewood shop. The one down the road.

Open Markets

These are the territories available right now. Each one is a defined, protected area, and once it’s claimed, it’s closed to other Gatewood franchisees.

  • Texas – Long driveways, ranch gates, and openers that get worked hard in the heat. Gate motor service alone keeps a shop busy year-round.
  • Florida – Salt air and humidity are brutal on gate hardware, hinges, and circuit boards. Repair demand here is steady, not seasonal.
  • California – A mix of high-end custom gates and older automation systems that were never maintained properly. Plenty of repair-first work.
  • Georgia – Sprawling exurban counties with thousands of long driveway gates and aging opener systems from the early 2000s.
  • North Carolina – Growing fast, and every new home with a driveway over 200 feet is a future gate service call.
  • Arizona – Sun and dust kill photocells and control boards faster than anywhere else. Homeowners here need a local name they can call twice a year.
  • Tennessee – Rural properties with welded steel gates and operators that were installed once and never touched again. That’s our kind of work.
  • Ohio – Cold winters separate welds and crack hinge posts. Spring is a season of gate repair, and it comes every year.
  • Pennsylvania – Older properties, established neighborhoods, and a lot of gates built before modern safety standards. We fix them rather than replace them.
  • Colorado – Freeze-thaw cycles heave gate posts out of plumb. A gate that sags in spring was installed in fall. We know this trade.
  • Washington – Constant moisture means rusted hinges, failing actuators, and circuit boards that corrode. Reliable repair work for someone who shows up.
  • Virginia – Horse country, estate properties, and old iron gates that nobody wants to haul away. Repair-first is the right model here.

How Territories Work

A territory is a defined geographic area where you own the Gatewood name and the Gatewood system. No other Gatewood franchisee operates inside your lines, and you don’t operate outside theirs. We draw the boundaries before you sign, based on population, drive time, and where the work actually is. We’d rather have one busy owner in a county than three starving ones splitting it. When you claim a territory, it’s reserved for you while you go through training and setup. We don’t shop it around, and we don’t hold it in limbo. You get a protected area, a published address with your name on it, and the same 90-Day Done Right Promise Hal has stamped on every job since 2001. The license number is published, the owner answers the phone, and the truck carries the name. That’s the model, and it works because it’s real. When someone calls the Gatewood shop in their town, they get a live person who lives in that town, not a voicemail or a national call queue. That’s the whole point of a local franchise: the name is on the shop, and the shop is down the road from the customer.
