The factory welds are fine; the problem is years of vibration concentrating at the hinge barrel. We grind out the failed weld, true up the leaf, and lay down a full-penetration weld that’s stronger than the original. If the hinge itself is seized, we replace it with a matched heavy-duty pair rather than welding a worn pin.
• Gate rollers chewing through the bottom rail on BFT sliding gates. Los Angeles has dirt and grit that acts like sandpaper against roller bearings. Once a roller seizes, it stops rolling and starts scraping a groove into the bottom track. On BFT sliding systems we see this mostly on the larger Thalia and Aria lines.
