• Keypad buttons need multiple hard presses to register. This is almost always a worn membrane or corroded contacts inside the keypad. The fix is a new keypad, not a new opener. We’ve seen people replace entire gate operators for a $60 keypad fault.
• The keypad lights up but the gate won’t move. This usually means the keypad lost its programming or the receiver inside the opener is no longer reading the signal. We re-pair first. If that fails, the keypad’s radio has died.
